Advice for Trail Runners: The Altra Women's Lone Peak 8 Running Shoes help you feel to connected to the trails. The Lone Peak 8 are designed to protect your feet from harsh underfoot conditions.
Underfoot Feel
In comparison to many other trail running shoes, the midsole is relatively low profile. This means that you will be very aware of the ground conditions and how your feet are adapting to them. However a StoneGuard™ will prevent sharp stones and rocks from pressing into your feet.
From a traction perspective, the well-established MaxTrac™ outsole is grippy and sticky.
Upper Fit
The roomy toe box should allow plenty of room for your toes to splay. The width of the toe box should result in very little chance of your toes feeling compressed.
In comparison to the Lone Peak 7, the upper has received a significant update. The refined upper provides increased durability.
Ideal Run Type
The Altra Women's Lone Peak 8 Running Shoes are best for trail runs that truly are trail runs. They will be at their best when you can step straight onto the trails.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
